Manawatu champs
Palmerston North
Replay of the Manawatu champs, 16 cars turned out to try this again.
This championship was run over 2 heats, marble draw and reverse, then a final heat with the top 6 inverted.
No rollovers, clean racing, tight racing.
Congrats to 9h Zac Kennedy, 77p Chad Ace and 93p Declan Roe.

North Island champs
Kikihikihi 3/5/09
The final meeting for the minisprints was the North Island Minisprint Champs held at Kihikihi speedbowl.
15 cars turned out to compete for the trophies. 1nz, 2nz and 3nz all were there.
The championship was run over 2 heats with a final race. Marble draw for the first heat, reverse and a final heat was run with a top 4 reversed.
The racing was tight all day, the notable event of the day was 15H Dean Liddell rolling his car spectacularly over after hitting the wall down the back straight, landing on all fours and managed to keep going and finish the race. I heard his crew yell with concern, then laugh and scream keep going.
The final race was won by 72K Brian Edwards, from 2nz Shaun Cooke, from 26h Dayne Maxwell. Congrats to all, first podium for Dayne, well done!
